 Local Childcare Resource Service – Dublin South Central
The former Childcare Information Bureau located in Crumlin Village has relocated to Ballyfermot. The service is now called the Local Childcare Resource Service (LCRS) and is part of the support structure provided by the Dublin City Childcare Committee. The LCRS provides information for parents, childcare workers and service provdiers, childminders and students on childcare related issues specifically to the Dublin South Central area, including Chapelizod, Ballyfermot, Cherry Orchard, Crumlin, Bluebell, Drimnagh, Walkinstown, Kimmage Rialto, Inchicore, Kilmainham, Dolphin’s Barn, South Circular Road, The Coombe, parts of Harold's Coss and Terenure.

The LCRS provides the following supports:
Childcare Providers and Childcare workers:
·         Support with setting up a new childcare service
·         Training workshop sand information on Accredited training
·         Networks to meet other people working in childcare
·         Information and support on Government funding programmes
·         Information and support on childcare issues e.g. HR, Legislation, Governance, Child Protection, Sustainability
·         Childcare books and resources available for reference in the LCRS
Parents/Carers/Guardians:
·         Information on Government funded childcare places
·         Support with choosing childcare services for your child
·         Lists of local childcare services, including full-day care, Childminders, sessional playgroups and pre-schools and schools
·         Parent networks and information workshops on relevant topics. Eg. Behaviour management
·         Publications on relevant childcare issues and services for parents
·         List of local Parent and Toddler Groups
·         Support with parent and toddler groups with applications for funding
Childminders
·         Assistance when setting up a childminding service, including  support visits to the home by a Childminding Advisory Officer
·         Ongoing support for established childminding services
·         Guidance in record keeping and developing policies
·         Mutual support through a local network of childminders
