Our Art, Our Library Community Art Project

On Friday the 22nd of May the Partnership hosted the first initial meeting for a community art project in conjunction with the Library being refurbished and reopening by the end of 2011 and Dublin City Council Arts Office.

The turn out was great with a strong cross section of local residents turning up to participate.  We hope this project will allow residents to engage with the refurbished library space and create a piece of artwork all the community can be proud of.

The next meeting will be held on Saturday the 28th May in the Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership offices to discuss the projects that will run and start the research and development phase of these ideas.

All ideas were innovative and creative and we look forward to the project commencing.

Many thanks to all who participated and if anyone is still interested in joining the group please feel free to contact Carolann Courtney in the Community Development Department of the Partnership.

A temporary studio will be running from the 17th June in the Family Resource Centre in Lynches Lane adn all are welcome to drop in and see the work progressing on.
